📣 Expressions of Interest Now Open – IGPTN 2026.2 Workshop, Naarm (Melbourne) - 2nd-5th October.
We warmly invite Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander GP and RG trainees and fellows, to submit an Expression of Interest to attend our next national workshop in Naarm (Melbourne), from Friday 2 October to Monday 5 October 2026.
This signature workshop provides a culturally safe space for learning, connection, and professional development, bringing together Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander GP/RG trainees and fellows from across the country.
Workshop highlights will include:
✅ Clinical reasoning and medical education sessions
✅ Exam preparation, including StAMPS and CCE mock exams
✅ Networking and peer support opportunities
✅ Cultural activities and connection
📅 Key Dates
• EOI submissions close: Monday 13 Jul 2026
• Outcome notifications: Monday 20 Jul 2026
• Workshop registration deadline (for successful applicants): Sunday 2 Aug 2026
ACRRM Trainees and Fellows may also have the opportunity to attend the ACRRM 2-Day Melbourne Workshop (1–2 October 2026), focused on logbook skills sign-off, immediately before the IGPTN Workshop.
Please note that the RACGP Yagila Wadamba program will not be held alongside the IGPTN 2026.2 Workshop.

A fantastic opportunity from RACGP and AIDA. The AIDA Academic Post is a supported, funded opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander registrars to explore research and medical education alongside training.
Applications close Monday 6 July.
"After completing the RACGP AIDA Academic Post in 2020 I have had so many opportunities to expand my career into medical education and research. My project on experiences of racism for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander GP trainees taught me so much about racism in medical training and GP workplaces, and about research methodologies. Since then, I was able to join the university as a long-term academic staff member in general practice and Aboriginal health teams. I have also been able to enrol in a PhD and continue my career goal of balancing clinical work with education and research. This post is a wonderful opportunity for learning and collaboration."
