The Indigenous General Practice Trainee Network (IGPTN) held our 2025.1 Workshop on Kaurna Country from 2nd to 5th May 2025. This workshop brought together 33 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander GPs in training and 13 IGPTN Fellows for 3.5 days of learning, networking, and cultural connection.
The workshop was held at the Living Kaurna Cultural Centre following the conclusion of two ‘pre-workshops’ hosted by ACRRM (2 May 2025) and RACGP (Yagila Wadamba 1-2 May 2025).
The IGPTN program included a Research Skills Masterclasses, Wellbeing Activities, Yarning Circles, Concurrent sessions focusing on Clinical Case Discussions and Paediatrics, a Medicare Team Quiz.
Other key highlights included:
- The IGPTN 2025 Fellowship Awards Dinner (sponsored by AIDA), where we celebrated the success of IGPTN members who have recently achieved Fellowship.
- Mock CCE and StAMPS Exams On Country
- Cultural activities, including a Smoking Ceremony and, a Botanic Gardens cultural tour and weaving workshop hosted by Southern Cultural Immersion.
- A 1-day Dermatology Workshop led by Dr Lachlan Warren and sponsored by the Australasian College of Dermatologists.
